We all know that water is essential for life, and having sufficient (2 severing or half a plate) fruits and vegetables are required to achieve a balanced and healthy diet! Due to our busy schedules, many of us may find it challenging to achieve both! Many commercial products such as fruit/vegetables juices and drinks have thus emerged, in an attempt to ease our journey to hit the daily requirements.

Water Chestnut

  • "Heat" removing properties

    • In TCM context, symptoms of heaty includes: sore throat, red eyes, fever, mouth ulcers, and excessive thirst, which water chestnut (seen as "cooling") may counter and alleviate these symptoms

  • Nutritious!

    • Water chestnuts have anti-inflammatory properties and contains high level of fiber, potassium, manganese, copper, vitamin B6 and riboflavin.

Fun fact: Vitamin B-6 helps to regulate sleep and mood!

Health Tip: Sugarcane drink may be high in sugar! Overconsumption of sugar may result in acne outbreak! Choose a reduced sugar version if possible!

While vegetable & fruits beverages may have medicinal benefits and can supplement our daily requirement, we need to be mindful that they should never replace the fruits and vegetables in our daily diet.
